Fast and Testimony Meeting: January 2010

Our first Fast and Testimony meeting of the year was intense. Bishop bore his testimony and then opened it up for testimonies. There were so many distractions that tried to keep the spirit away. I was praying very hard that the Lord would intervene and that we would be able to feel the Spirit again. What happened next was amazing. Members just started going up to the pulpit and you could feel that they were there to bring the Spirit of our Lord back to the meeting. Another distraction occured and then our son, Kamalei and nephew, Kaleohano, both Deacons in the Young Men's program walked up to the stand and took their seats, ready to bare their testimonies. I cried so hard as I watched these righteous Young Men walk up to the stand. I knew that the Spirit had prompted them to go up and bring the Holy Spirit back to the meeting. Then, to top it all off, Kamalani got up and bore her testimony as well. It was a very special experience. Made me realize how strong the spirit is and how we can be instruments in the Lord's hand, to bring to pass righteousness. Even when darkness is trying it's best to take away the light, it is not match to the power and glory of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
