The Medeiros Family visits the Kawa'as

On February 10th we had a wonderful dinner with the Medeiros 'Ohana. A few months ago we had the privilege of first meeting their son, Elder Michael Moroni "Nalu" Medeiros. He spent many nights in our home with us. His parents are from Hawai'i and live in Utah now. They came to Maui to visit and we had the blessed opportunity to meet them. I feel like we've known them forever!

We fell in love with Elder Medeiros and feel like he his our own son. Our children love him, too! We really miss having him here on Maui and reading scriptures with him each day, but we know the Lord has called him to greater work. He is now a District Leader on O'ahu. We will continue to pray for our "Nalu" as he serves our Heavenly Father.

In Hawaiian we have a saying, i maika'i ke kalo i ka 'oha, the taro is judged good because of its offspring. This ancient proverb tells us that parents are often judged by the actions of their children. Well, after the meeting the Medeiros' we know why we love Elder Medeiros so much. Like Nephi of old, he was "born of goodly parents." We've fallen in love with them the same way we've fallen in love with Nalu. It's really easy to do!

Hiwa and Le'a sit with Tammy and Darren Medeiros. They wanted to be as close as they could be to them. Feels like Elder Medeiros is close by when they are near.

I am so grateful for earthly relationships that we know will one day be eternal!
